Orientation and Registration

Get started in your job search by attending an orientation and registering for services.

OhioMeansJobs Center Orientation

The first step in utilizing services at your OhioMeansJobs center is to attend orientation. You can attend an orientation in-person at the OMJ or virtually from home or anywhere you have computer access. During orientation, you will receive an overview of services offered at the OMJ by one of our Career Coaches and create an OhioMeansJobs.com career profile to match career options to your interests. From there, your Employment Specialist will assist you in registering for services and make referrals to other partner organizations with resources you may benefit from during your job search. Sign up to attend an orientation and we will reach out to you before your appointment to confirm your information.

Registration for Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Services

After orientation, you will work with an Employment Specialist to register for WIOA career services through an intake appointment. This can take place immediately after orientation or be scheduled further out in order to fit into your schedule. Items to have handy for registration include a driver's license or state identification card, resumé, if you have one, and Social Security card. If you have been laid off or are collecting unemployment benefits, make sure to bring your UI determination letter with you. This will expedite the process of connecting you with services that will help you get back to work.
